Once you've adopted your work of art and found a good quality image. It's time to start your research!
Articles in periodicals will provide the most up-to-date information on your topic.
To locate only articles, use Academic Search Premier or ProQuest Research Library for general information.
Newspapers may also be a good source to consider.
Begin your search at the Library Homepage or use the search box below.
A subject search will help to narrow down broad or general topics. For example- American artists
Keyword is useful when you want to combine terms. For example- looting and art

From the search results page, use the format box on the left to narrow the list to books and/or e-books.
Try these sources for historical context about your artist and your chosen work-
You found a book or article that isn't in the BCC library and you really need it. Now what?
Use our Inter-Library Loan request form and have the the item delivered to you.
Fill out all the information you have to help us get the article or book for you as soon as possible.
Your assignment asks for a short biography of the author for each of your sources. How do find do that?
Look closely at your articles and books. sometimes background information is included within the article or on the jacket of the book.
Other times, it's a treasure hunt!
Look for clues within the search result to help you find more information about the author-
If your article has no author, move on to another article.
If Google is your go to for research, think smarter and use Google Scholar.
In the settings, you can save your favorite libraries- Bergen Community College- and Google will show you if the articles you found are available through any of the library databases. Clicking on the "Full Text @ Bergen CC" link will bring you to the article in a library database
