Business: Company and Industry Information

Use the databases below to find information on companies and industries such as: financials, competitors, products, stock information, business profiles, and reports.

• Hoover's Company Information - Full text database of company & industry information, business news and travel.
• ReferenceUSA - The ReferenceUSA database contains detailed information on more than 14 million U.S. businesses; 210 million U.S. residents; 855,000 U.S. health care providers; 1.5 million Canadian businesses; and 12 million Canadian residents.
• LexisNexis Academic - Click on the Companies tab on the side of the screen to find detailed financial information, legal information, intellectual property, news and more about a company. 

All types of businesses in North America are assigned a NAICS code (North American Industry Classification System). It was created to standardize business industry categorization. The NAICS code can be used to make searching more efficient when doing business research.

• The NAICS code replaced the previously used SIC code in 1997. Both codes may be referenced.
• Hoover's Company Information and ReferenceUSA can be used to find the NAICS or SIC code for an industry.
