IST Careers

You are not really sure what career you want.... No Problem!

  1. From My Next Move, https://www.mynextmove.org/, go to "Tell Us What You Like to Do" and click start.
  2. You will be completing a 60 question career interest assessment.  the dropdown menu by "Browse Careers by Industry" and choose an area of interest.  https://www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip
  3. After completing the questions, print your results (be sure to put your name on the results before printing).  Do not close out of the assessment.
  4. Click next to get to the page with the “Select a Job Zone”
  5. Once you choose your preparation level you will see a list of jobs, print this with your name at the top.
  6. Skim through the list of job titles and choose one that interests you. 
  7. The resulting page allows you to view an overview of this job.  Many jobs include a Career Video.  You will also see the required knowledge, skills, abilities, personality, and technology skills.
  8. Once you know this is the job you will research, print this page by clicking print.  (It is in the upper right-hand corner)  Do not forget to put your name on the printout.  (You do this at the top of the page after clicking print)
